Rules and Conditions
1. No person born
before 1890 may enter the Championship.
2. Fishing with weighted line and competitors choice of bait.
3. NO nets and NO hooks allowed. Use of either
results in instant and unconditional disqualification.
4. Only one line permitted per entrant.
5. Registration fee to be paid before entering the Championship.
6. Each entrant must select the most suitable crab in their
catch to be weighed, returning all others to the water. Crabs
landed MUST be kept in a bucket of water at all times.
7. Competition judged by weight. Prizes awarded for the
single, heaviest crab.
8. Only living, non-edible crabs caught during the championship
accepted for weighing.
9. The judges decision is final.
10. A £10 fine will be made against any person falling
in the water and frightening the crabs.
11. No person over the age of 16 allowed on the winner's rostrum
due to recent European legislation for people with crabs.
Catching crabs
can be dangerous.
Persons entering the Championship do so at their own risk.
